was born and grew up in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. There, she developed a “love” for the beauty and magic of nature and animals. Katrina earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education, and became a teacher working with young children. During her 40-year teaching career, she marveled watching their eyes brighten when they opened a new book for the first time... or created art to share important events in their lives. Katrina was inspired to create books as she witnessed how children fell in love with reading and were natural-born artists.

My Kitty, My Angel is Katrina’s first book written in memory of her beloved kitty “Pumpkin,” and is based on true events in her children’s lives. Her books portray touching stories that everyone can relate to, while providing comfort, problem solving and insight to the reader. With the launch of Duff Publishing, Katrina enters a new chapter in her life, as she excitedly returns to another first love: custom pet oil painting... for love and hire!
